OPHS' Select Vocal Ensemble's Trip to Wales:

Today is a historic day in Ouachita's storied music history. Today, June 6th marks 70 years since the Ensemble under Velma Nichols left for their month long trip to Llangollen, Wales on June 6, 1949
. Of the 17 singers who represented Ouachita at the famous Welsh International Music Festival there are three of us left, as follows; Kitty Dartez DeFreese, Ruston, LA, Billy Joe Milstead, Winston Salem, NC, and me, O. David DeRossett, McKinney, TX. All three of us are members of the OPHS graduating class of 1950.
